Rowan Stuart has always been obsessed with the space between – the point where reality and imagination meet, where the ordinary world reveals something extraordinary.

Originally from South Africa and now based in Devon, England, Rowan creates atmospheric alternative pop that moves between earthy rhythm and ethereal atmosphere.

Rowan's work is rooted in a lifelong instinct to build worlds. As a child, he filled pages with imagined places, strange machines and forgotten landscapes. Discovering music became a way to bring those inner worlds into shared experience – an instinct captured in his belief: "I live between the world I feel and the one I see, and my music is where they meet."

Rather than offering escape from the world, Rowan invites us to see it differently – to notice what is usually overlooked, and to return to everyday life with renewed curiosity, wonder and a sense that there may be more beneath the surface.

Rowan has released six solo albums and several EPs, and has been performing across the South West since moving to the UK in 2024. His latest single, Make Believe, was featured by BBC Music Introducing.

In November 2025, Rowan released Outsiders, a twelve-track album begun in South Africa and completed in the United Kingdom.
